Hello Readers!

We often get overwhelmed or stressed out by certain events in our life. I feel that we should look out for the little things in life, which have the ability to bring a smile on our faces and rejuvenate us.

LITTLE THINGS!

“That’s it! We are done with this project now!”, said Shreya as she finished reading their project report once again.
“I really hope so Shreya, but I have a strong feeling that according to Sir, we would be far from done” said Gauri as they got up to go towards their project guide’s cabin.

Shreya, Gauri and Vidhi were working together on a semester long project and had their final presentation the following day. True enough, their project guide, Joshi sir was not impressed. He spent an hour explaining to them what changes were needed and what more work he wanted.

“But Sir, we have already made tables for all the results and…” Vidhi began to lose her patience.
“Do whatever I say. It’s for your betterment only. Don’t waste your time arguing with me…and note down everything” Joshi Sir interrupted her.
“Yes sir, we'll do it” the other two said and gestured Vidhi to keep quiet.
After that, they just stood there nodding their heads and noting down the endless points of improvement. They had no option but to do whatever was told, in order to get a good grade.

“Seriously! He wants all these, hundreds of changes to be done by 7’o clock… and… its already five thirty.” Shreya threw her hands up in exasperation.

“See I told you Shreya, Sir would not be impressed.” said Gauri.

“Oh please! Now don’t begin with the ‘I told you so…’ thing.”

“I’m not doing anything more now, I'm exhausted. I haven’t eaten anything since breakfast”, Vidhi complained.
“Listen, none of us have eaten anything since breakfast. What’s important now is to pull ourselves together for a few more hours and finish this off”, Gauri said looking at Vidhi.

“I don’t even care about this project so much now. Anyway, both of you were the ones who very confidently told Sir that we would do everything. So now do it.”
“So, what else? After putting in so much of effort into this project you were about to get Sir irritated on the last day…”

“Forget it, Gauri. No use wasting time arguing with her. In any case, she has not contributed much to the project so let's continue without her.”
“What do you mean I did not…leave it. Think whatever you want. I don’t care”, Vidhi got up and stood near the window.
Gauri shook her head in dismay and sat with her head rested in her hands. All three of them were quiet for a few minutes.

“Guys this is beautiful isn’t it?”, Vidhi was beckoning them towards the window. Gauri and Shreya looked at each other and then towards the window. “Come on, fast”

As they reached the window, they were mesmerized by the sight of the sunset. The sky was filled with hues of red as the sun dipped a bit closer to the horizon. Amongst all the stress and anxiety of the project, looking at the beauty of nature was very calming and soothing to their nerves.

“Nope, it’s not coming properly. The sun keeps getting spread out, and blurred like this”, Vidhi said showing the photos she had just taken, trying to capture the enthralling scene.
“What do you know about photography? Let the photography champion here, show you how it’s done”, said Shreya as she herself captured a picture.
“Wow! This is perfect! I agree, you definitely are a photography champion”, said Vidhi, and the three of them burst into laughter.

“Alright, back to work then”, said Vidhi, glancing at her watch, after they had enjoyed the entire sunset. “We only have an hour now. So... we divide and conquer?”

“Sure!"

With this new found energy, they worked with full concentration and managed to finish everything with a half hour extension. This time, and probably for the first time, they even managed to receive a compliment for their work, from Joshi Sir.

They gave an amazing presentation the next day, which was, following a morale boosting lecture by Vidhi. After the presentation was done, Shreya posted the picture of the sunset on Facebook and captioned it …

‘Little Things in Life!’.
